Lad Travels World Taking Amazing Selfies With Animals –
Nowadays we all adhere to the theory of ‘if you didn’t take a picture, did it even happen?’. And fair enough, because we now have the ability to prove every situation we’re in by taking a snap.
If you travel the world you’re kind of expected to take pictures of near enough everything you do. I mean, those people who you haven’t spoken to since high school need something to stalk on Facebook. Allan Dixon does that, but makes a point of including animals in his photos because they are infinitely better than humans and are far more photogenic.
The 29-year-old modern day Dr Doolittle has taken a selfie with just about any animal you can think of.
The Irish native must have some kind of calming presence because every one of his companions seem to be just as happy as him to be in the picture.
Allan has been across Canada, Iceland, Norway, Asia and Australia, posting all of his snaps on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram along the way, seeing his followers fly through the roof.
“People’s reactions to these photos were rising exponentially – after three photos, it was a given I should continue the trend,” he said.
“Anticipation crept into my social network as to what animal could possibly be next, with what expression?”
To get the perfect pose from the animals, Allan tends to spend quite a bit of time around them in order to gain their trust. “[Travelers] should be very careful as to not upset or provoke the animal when they’re trying to take the photo,” he said. “Gain the animal’s trust in a calm, relaxed manner, and the results will be golden.”
Basically, if you’re impatient and don’t love animals, chances are your pictures are going to be shit. But, spending hours with different animals isn’t really a chore, so technically anyone can take these amazing photos.
Is anyone else considering packing in their boring day-to-day lives and doing this instead? I am.
