A polar bear cub that made news for being hand-reared at the Columbus Zoo was recently given a name.
Born on Nov. 6, to mother Aurora, and father Nanuq, the young cub’s name, Nora, is a combination her parents’ names.
Now 3 months old, Nora is still living behind-the-scenes at the zoo’s animal hospital and receiving round the clock feedings every 4 hours, according to its website.
Video obtained Monday shows Nora playing with a zoo camera and holding up a “Hello my name is Nora!” name tag.
Zoo staff decided to hand-rear Nora after her mother took extended breaks from caring for her when she was about a week old.
