One of those homeowners, Jan Egil Bakkedal, said he ran for his life when he realized what was happening.
“I stormed out and fled up the mountainside where I saw it all from a distance,” he said. “Yes, you can basically say that I ran for my life.”
Bakkedal captured remarkable footage of the landslide from the safe location.
The landslide measured over 600 meters in width and 40 meters in height, VG reported.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Only one dog had to be rescued, which was captured on video by the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
